The History of Patriot Electric, Inc

Patriot Electric, Inc. was started in 1995 by Talbot Watkins III as a full time venture. Starting with one van and a tool bag, Talbot set his goal on becoming a major player in the electrical contracting community in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

To his delight, by year-end he had two vans and three employees helping him keep up with the growing demand for his services. Growth and change has been a constant at Patriot Electric, Inc. In just eight short years the Company is now housed on a 2 acre commpound zoned C-4 that is owned by it's President, Talbot Watkins III and is considered home to its 58 employees.

The Company is now serving the entire state of Maryland and northern Virginia. The primary customer base of Patriot Electric, Inc includes a multitude of major residential home builders and contractors providing single family homes and townhomes to the public. In addition, the Company offers a full line of services to commercial and military contractors. Our service department supports and compliments our construction crews to add the finishing touch to every job.

Promotion of Business

We are committed to the premise that the best method of promoting our business is to render a technically superior job to our current customer base at a fair price on a timely basis. Word travels fast; it's been our good fortune to be the recipient of many great referrals over our eight year history from satisfied clients. Mr. Watkins has been active in the Pasadena Business Association and the local Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors Association and the Home Builders Association. By networking with executives at these trade associations, important business relationships are forged that ultimately result in contracts.

Local and statewide advertising programs have been developed and are currently in progress. A full-page display ad runs in the Verizon Greater Baltimore Suburban West Yellow Pages and television ads are being run throughout Maryland on Millennium Cable and WBAL TV.

Patriot Electric, Inc. believes firmly in sharing its success and giving back to the community from which it achieves its success. We sponsor athletic programs at Northeast and Chesapeake High Schools. Little League associations have also benefited from Mr. Watkins' involvement as well. It is not unusual for him to solicit contributions for these associations from his many business contracts.

Of particular interest to Mr. Watkins are those who are less fortunate and down and out. As a result of his commitment to God and his desire to be his brother's keeper, Patriot Electric, Inc. contributes $300 monthly to the Anne Arundel Food Bank specifically designating the money to the "Happy Helpers For The Homeless" ministry which not only feeds but minsters to the needs of the homeless of Anne Arundel and Baltimore City.

Historically, the Company has given scholarships to the local high schools and technical trade centers. Currently, the Company is funding three $750 scholarships to local schools to assist worthy but needy students to obtain funding for their continued education.
